Run For Blood!

LifeServe Blood Center is excited to announce the date for the second annual Run For Blood 5K Run/Walk!  This special event is designed to raise awareness about blood donation while raising funds to support the LifeServe Blood Center High School Scholarship Program. 

This summer, LifeServe Blood Center will join other cities across the country to host the second annual National Run for Blood 5K Run/Walk.  The event will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 8 a.m. (rain or shine) at LifeServe's Des Moines Donor Center located at 431 E. Locust St., Des Moines, Iowa.  Registration for Run For Blood is available online at www.runforblood.com. Run for Blood’s mission is to provide funding and support to blood centers across the country through community charity runs. Proceeds from this event will fund the LifeServe Blood Center Scholarship Program, which is designed to reward students for their commitment to saving lives and supporting their community through blood donation and blood drive sponsorship. Participants in the Run For Blood event are not only contributing to the scholarship fund they are also helping to educate students about the importance of community service and encouraging the development of life-long habits of blood donation and volunteerism.
